The Piri Piri, or African Birdseye Pepper, is Genus/Species Capsicum Frutescens. The African Birdseye pepper has one of the more unique flavor profiles of this species. This pepper is considered to be the hottest member of the birdseye peppers. Instead of drooping downward, the African Birdseye points upward as it grows on the plant.
